Small Business Finance Toolkit respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is and is not collected when you use our website, and it accurately describes the third-party tools this site currently uses: Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Our guiding principle is to collect as little as possible. Calculator math runs on your device. An optional AI explanation shares selected figures only after you agree and request it.
Calculator data stays on your device
All calculations run directly in your web browser. The numbers you type into our calculators — your revenue, costs, prices and other figures — are processed locally. Comparing scenarios and downloading a CSV do not send those figures to our server. Calculator inputs and AI explanations are never included in the analytics events, data-layer events, URLs, or advertising requests we construct.
Optional AI scenario explanations
When available, the margin explorer can explain a scenario using Moonshot AI. Only after you agree to data sharing and select “Explain my scenario” do we send revenue, variable costs, percentage changes, and the calculated comparison through our server to Moonshot AI. No name or email is needed. Do not submit confidential figures. You can use the calculator and comparison without AI.
Our AI service does not save the financial inputs or generated explanations, and does not log request bodies. It holds an IP-based request counter in memory until the next UTC day or service restart to limit abuse, and stores an aggregate daily request count without financial figures. Infrastructure security logs may record connection information. CSV files you download remain wherever you save them; no account or cloud scenario storage is provided by this preview.
Moonshot AI processes submitted figures under its own terms. Those terms allow content to be used to provide and improve its services, including model improvement, unless separate written restrictions apply. We do not claim zero retention or a training opt-out for this integration. See Moonshot AI’s API terms. AI text may contain mistakes; compare it with the calculated results before relying on it.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google acts as a service provider on our behalf and uses the information collected to measure and report on how visitors use our site so we can improve it.
This site keeps analytics cookie storage denied. Google Analytics can still send cookieless measurement signals under Consent Mode; denied storage does not mean no data is transmitted. The data categories that may be collected include: the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you arrived at the site, your general geographic region (derived from your IP address, which may be truncated or anonymized by Google), browser type, device type, and other usage identifiers. This information is used for measurement and improvement purposes — to understand which calculators and guides are helpful and to make the site easier to use.

- Contact form. If you contact us, we receive the name, email address and message you choose to send, solely to respond to your enquiry.
- Usage data. Through Google Analytics we collect anonymous, aggregated analytics such as pages visited and general location, to understand how the site is used and improve it.
Third-party vendors
The main third-party vendors that process data on this site are Google LLC (acting as both our analytics provider through Google Analytics and our advertising provider through Google AdSense) and Google’s advertising partners, who may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. We do not control the cookies set by these third parties, and their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies, linked above.
